The summer flew by and school started at the end of August. Clair is in 7th. Max is in 10th. Ellie is in her Senior Year already and going to FCC full time.
I've included the standard first day photos for reference. It's fun watching the evolution of what they want to be when they grow up.
Most summers since the kids were very little we have taken a day trip to Hershey Park. It's convenient and fun. This year Clair had won a ticket through church.
We decided to go one cooler day in early August before school started. It was a perfect day. The lines were not too long and the kids got to ride a lot of riders. We did have a few longer waits, but all in all it was a good choice of a day and well planned out path.
We even got to ride the big roller coaster at the front of the park this time. Every year we've skipped it because the lines are too long early on and when we leave I'm exhausted. But this year, thanks to Clair's planning, it worked out just right. We got on it with a 20 minute wait.
Max and Ellie still enjoy doing more intense roller coasters than the rest of us. I am not sure if that will ever change. David and I feel like our bodies can't do what they used to do with these fast and windy coasters. Clair is learning to enjoy some of them, but still some are just too much.
We ended up leaving the park before dinner this time and had a nice dinner in downtown Hershey before heading home. It was a perfect day.
