Night Night big boy

Max is such a busy boy when he's awake. He's in constant motion and doesn't want to take the time to cuddle or sit and read or anything. I think this makes me especially enjoy when he is still at night.

I went in to tell him goodnight and he looked so peaceful in his crib. He's such a cute big boy. He surely looks bigger then 1 in these 2 T pajamas below:

I can't believe my son is 1 tomorrow morning!

Goodbye to Owen

In preparation for spending the summer with Grannie, Ellie also needed to say good bye to Owen. He's not going to be at Ms. Sara's this summer, and there's a good chance he won't be there in the fall if Ms. Sara moves. So, since Owen was such a special first friend to Ellie, I encouraged her to make him a card.

We had fun making this together on Monday night.

When we arrived at Ms. Sara's on Tuesday morning, she proudly walked in holding the card. When she gave it to Owen, he flashed her his big cute smile and came up to give her a thank you hug. He really is a sweet little boy. Ellie was pleased too!

Later in the day Owen drew Ellie two of his own cards, thanking her for his cards and wishing her a great summer too.

Ellie will see her other friends at Ms. Sara's in July and AUgust. We will still go a couple days a week so she sees them and remembers the whole process for when Grannie leaves in August.

Max's last day at Gramma's

Today was Max's last day at Gramma's with Erika and Amy. Grannie is going to watch him this summer and then he will start going to Ms. Sara's with Ellie. I have mixed feelings about the event. I am thankful for all the love and care Gramma has given him. I'm thrilled he got to spend this time with his cousins. I'm a little sad he won't remember this special time he was able to have. I'm also a little thankful to no longer have to drop the kids off at two different places. And, I'm really happy for Max and Ellie getting to spend the day together. I think that's important and I'm glad they will get a little time to do this before Ellie starts school.

When I dropped Max off this morning I was informed he would be spoiled with ice cream and all the treats he's not supposed to have. I'm sure he had a great day. Here's a great photo from the morning:

Playing catch with Max

Max totally gets the concept of playing catch and will actually sit down and play it with me for a few minutes. He's been doing this for a couple weeks now. I am amazed that he is into this before he's even one. He thinks balls are so much fun!

Another fun thing for him is for me to hold him while we play together with this 4 inch diameter mega bouncey ball. He will through it to the ground and then it bounces back up and I catch it. He laughs. I give it to him. Repeat! It's halarious and he would like me to walk the whole house with him while he plays this game!

It only makes me wonder if that will lead him to an interest in sports and if so, which one(s).

Daddy's helper

Tonight I was supposed to go out to play with Ellie, but Max was just too tired. So, while I put him to bed, I asked David to keep an eye on her. He took the opportunity to turn her into his little helper!

Iron

Ellie loves dresses. This is really an understatement at this point in her life. I have finally given in and bought her a few dresses.

This morning she was excited to wear a particular dress to church. We put it on and she looked down to admire herself. She looks at the flower on the front and says, "mommy, you need to go iron this please. the flower is messed up." It was folded on top of it's self and had a bit more of a collasped 3d look going on, but i thought it was doable.

Ellie wouldn't relax until I ironed it. I'm in for trouble becuase I don't iron much, so either Ellie's going to be the first 3 year old learning to iron or going to have to relax her little princess standards a bit.

Caught in action

Ellie is still a bit jealous of Max and curious sometimes of the baby gadgets and things he gets. You would think after nearly a year, this would have passed, but apparently not.

I was out running errands and came home to hear David upstairs getting Max up from his nap and Ellie fussing in the living room. Now, Ellie fussing in the living room isn't odd these days. However, when I walked around the corner to ask her what the problem was, I stopped and started laughing!

The problem, she's stuck!
