So here it is, will I miss this mess everywhere?

I seriously doubt I’ll miss this
Max has a horrendous habit of never picking up after himself, especially at the kitchen table. After relaxing evening sitting here, drinking some wine and watching TV, I looked back to see this. David chuckles and tells me that in 20 years time I’ll look back and missed us and I should captured as a photo.

Clair and softball
This fall I got the pleasure of coaching Clair in softball for the first time. I really enjoyed the team. I have two very helpful assistants. Tonight was our last practice. I love practicing at Libertytown, under the lights, in the fall. This park olds, many great memories, and each softball season. I’m coaching is one of them.

Clair worked hard this year. She tried a little bit of pitching. She’s been working hard in the field. She’s been trying to get better at her hitting. Clair still loves every sport and it’s hard for her to pick one to focus on. I think my girl just really likes being busy. This year she enjoyed having her friend Olivia on the team with her. It was Olivia’s first time playing sports and she really worked hard at it. I’m proud of her. I’m proud of all the girls. Most of them you could see them really working hard this season.
here are a couple pictures of Clair hitting tonight. I really didn’t get many pictures of her the season. I only decided to take the pictures tonight because I managed to dress her like the perfect Hokie! Love it! And her!
A beautiful fall family day
Today, the kids are off school and I took the day off work, and David took the day off work. We decided to go enjoy Gavers Farm as a family. Everybody was looking forward to it, and that was the best part.

We’ve been taking the kids here ever since they were little. I don’t think any of them remember a year not going. It’s full of for fun. And, there are the most amazing views. So I absolutely love taking pictures there.
I was worried when I said we were gonna go as a family that I would hear moaning from Ellie, which would then me and Max would moon too. But she didn’t. She said she was excited. When we were leaving Max even thanked me for going, and they all said they had fun.
We have a standard way that we approach the farm, and everybody has things they enjoy and things they love. Some of our favorites are the various slides, throwing the wiffleball’s at the top of the hill, the music station, the water, ducks, and the ring toss game.
Lots of fun was had by all and I made everybody pose for more pictures and they wanted to.

In another episode of Im gonna miss this
Clair is full of ideas and boy does she love to snuggle with me and tell me about her ideas. One of the best parts of my day is when we’re all clean and showered and we lay down to snuggle and talk before bed. She has always got something exciting going on in her mind and she loves to share it with me.

We captured this picture after our last in NM elementary school back to school day.
Tonight‘s topic was about robots. She has some great ideas about robot she wants to make. She wants to make a robot that will wake us up and then go downstairs and make our breakfast. So we spent some time looking up how robots can be created to be able to go up and down stairs. Later we talked about whether or not her school could set up a robotics club, and/or maybe let them join some type of robotics competition. She has a plan to ask her principal. I hope she follows through with asking and even if he says no, it’s still a great learning experience to try to advocate for what she wants to see happen in her school.
I love this girls, busy mine and her willingness to try to take steps to see if she can make things happen.

Summer flew by
We had a busy summer with a month spent in Europe. I wish I would’ve done a better job of capturing stories from our time in Scotland and Italy. When we got home, the kids had about a month of lounging about at the house before school started. Now they are off on another year of school.

my girl loves taking pictures with me in special moments. The other two humored me.

- Ellie is in 10th grade.
- Max is an eighth grader. It’s his last year of middle school. I’m happy for him getting to be the big kid on campus.
- Clair is in fifth grade. It’s her last year of elementary school and my last year as a mom of an elementary school kid.
They were all looking forward to going back to school for different reasons. Ellie was very much looking forward to more social time with friends. Max was also hoping for the social engagement. Clair just loves to learn and was hoping to get to spend more time with math. She loves math!
So far the school year seems to be going OK for them all. It was a rough start for Max, because none of his favorite people were in his class. However, he seems to have figured out how to find some new people to talk to you and spend time with his favorite friend.
