Clair's speech is blossoming

Despite too cold already in three weeks in the new year, Clair's speech is really blossoming. She regularly tries to use words to talk to me. I think she tries to use them to talk to others as well, though I must admit they are not the clearest and thus maybe not most effective yet. But she sure is trying.

As I was putting her to bed tonight she made it clear she was ready to talk. She looked at me and she said play? I told her it was time for bed we were not going to play. Then she asked for story? Told her daddy had already read stories to her. She preceded tell me that she's had said bye-bye to daddy as he went away. And she pointed to the humidifier and said humidifier. Just in case I didn't know what it was called. She is proud of using words. And it is great watching all the thoughts that are clearly in her head and have been for a long time start to come out.

She is 21 months old this week. She is really turnings into a todler and being less of my baby. Growing up is of course wonderful, and as she grows, I feel a little sadness for the baby years leaving but most excitement as I watch my kids grow as people.
