Max really is a good runner. He has some great speed. When they do sprint at basketball he’s usually at the lead. If he isn’t first he is usually second.

Max loves running club
Earlier in the school year max decided to participate in the opportunity to join the schools weekly running club. When presented the opportunity he was very excited about it and said right away he wanted to participate. Since the first day it started he has enjoyed the opportunity to get up early and go up to the school with teachers and other athletes and run each Wednesday morning. I’m so proud of him. I love that he enjoys this healthy habit. I love that he is willing to get up early and look forward to each week. He’s actually sad that tomorrow will be the last one for the fall.

Sister love
I love to watch the specia bonds develop between the kids. They each have their own little connections and times they rely on one another.
I love this little throwback from 5 years ago of the pair of them.
Clair and Max play well together and can get lost in their own games for hours. Recently pokeman is a great example but it’s always been like this.
Ellie and Max have interesting conversations and share secrets with one another. I love this.
Clair looks up to Ellie and Ellie usually appreciates an opportunity for sister time. It can be in the form of just about anything.
Yesterday Clair brought this home from school and it warmed my heart. It made Ellie feel great too.
I love this little throwback from 5 years ago of the pair of them.

Kiss my heart
Tonight as I was holding clear before putting her in her bed, which only happens briefly and rarely these days as she is a big five-year-old and I have my bad back, I’m kissing her and she starts lifting her head up real high. I laugh and kissed her neck and she giggles. Then I try to kiss her cheek again and she repeats lifting her head. We get going I put her in her bed. I said “what are you doing?”
She says, “mommy I want you to kiss my heart because that’s where kisses go. That way the kids can go directly into my heart and give me even more love.”
I just smiled and my heart melted a little bit. I told her that was the best idea I’ve ever heard. And I kissed her little heart. She smiled and said, “that was the best way to do it because he could go right to her heart. Right mommy?!”
This little girl finds a way to show me so much love everyday. She isn’t put off by my grouchiness. She isn’t put off when I’m in a hurry because I have a million things to do once I finally get her and her siblings into bed. She I’m sincere. She is sweet. She is thoughtful. She is brilliant. And she just amazes me when she comes up with these thoughtful ideas.

Pokeman lives on
Months after summer with Michaela, Max and Clair Still Love Pokeman.
Max has lost his cards twice. That’s hundreds of lost dollars. He still wants more.
The Christmas lists remain littered with pokeman asks- cards and stuffed animals alike.
Ellie remains bored with her siblings pokeman fascination.
How long will this last?
A walk to school
I love that the kids love in a walking district. I wish we walked more often.
Wednesday we walked thanks to Max’s encouragement from the excitement of counting his steps.
They all had positive attitudes. It wasn’t hot. It wasn’t cold. It was a nice autumn day. The kids raced. The girls enjoyed leaves and flowers.
There was a fall. Clair tripped and cut her finger a bit but we persevered.
We should do more of this.

Halloween Fun
This year they were all very excited about Halloween. They picked there costumes several weeks ago. They each picked something themselves. There was no consulting with Mommy and Daddy.
We got pumpkins for carving weeks ago as well. They insisted that they be carved to be scarey pumpkins, even Clair with her own 3 eye design.
Halloween was windy but buwatifyl weather. They didn’t even need coats. We couldn’t get the pumpkins to light so we lit them a couple days later to admire them and their beauty, despite their sunken faces.
3 full buckets of candy and an evening where hey each kept pace with a friend made for a happy kiddos Halloween.
Monday morning with no school
The kids love nothing more then laying around in our bed watching television. They rarely get this treat. This morning there is no school and I needed to check in on a couple things at work, so they got lucky.
3 pumpkin heads lying in bed watching morning cartoons. Despite the look on Clair’s face when I took the picture they are all quite pleased.

The dreaded haircut
Over the past year or so Ellie‘s hair has gotten very long. Every time I have suggested getting it cut she has rejected the idea severely. I’ve given it one or two trims at home to try to clean it up. Over the past couple months it seems to have gotten rattier looking. I decided this weekend was the time we would finally cut it. I took all three children to the local salon to get there hair is cut today. Ellie was not looking forward to it but seem to except it.
You know your hair is long when the lady who is cutting your hair, and has been cutting hair for 20 years, says I’m sorry, your hair is so long that you’re going to need to stand while I cut it.
Ellie seem to stay in good spirits while she cut it.
I thought she was accepting this and understood that it would make her hair nicer looking. But over the evening, her dissatisfaction seem to keep higher and higher. By the time she went to bed she was in pure morning for the length of her missing her. We probably cut about 8 inches off in total. I didn’t actually measure it. But I do think that her new hair, all one beautifully well cut the link, is gorgeous. I hope that she quickly it comes to realize that.
