Halloween Fun

This year they were all very excited about Halloween. They picked there costumes several weeks ago. They each picked something themselves. There was no consulting with Mommy and Daddy.

We got pumpkins for carving weeks ago as well. They insisted that they be carved to be scarey pumpkins, even Clair with her own 3 eye design.

Halloween was windy but buwatifyl weather. They didn’t even need coats. We couldn’t get the pumpkins to light so we lit them a couple days later to admire them and their beauty, despite their sunken faces.

3 full buckets of candy and an evening where hey each kept pace with a friend made for a happy kiddos Halloween.

Monday morning with no school

The kids love nothing more then laying around in our bed watching television. They rarely get this treat. This morning there is no school and I needed to check in on a couple things at work, so they got lucky.

3 pumpkin heads lying in bed watching morning cartoons. Despite the look on Clair’s face when I took the picture they are all quite pleased.

Trying to end the obsession

Earlier this summer the kids spend a lot of time playing Pokémon with Michaela. As Michaela left and granny came, the older kids moved away from it but Clair retained her up obsession strongly. She never wanted to play anything else with her siblings other than Pokémon. As a result Max and Elly went on a mission, starting a new business, to end up sessions. We found this really funny hand typed letter on the kitchen table one evening. This is one for the memory books.

Being that it is now October and I’m just getting around to sharing this, I can report that the amount of Pokémon play has reduced, but still exist. It is still clear his favorite thing to play, but kindergarten now gets in the way of her being able to play it all the time.
