Fifth grade promotion ceremony for Ellie

This last week of school was full of a lot of memories, purposely in the making of the teachers in the schools, for everyone. They were telling him over and over as well be their last this on their last that. I’m not sure how I feel about them pushing the moment so hard on them. That said, today Ellie walked out of new market Elementary school for the last time today. She managed to do it without any tears. We collected on the playground as normal, and proceeded to go get some ice cream from the Derby. Clair was clearly sad and Max seemed to go with it all easy enough.

Yesterday, they bust the kids up to the high school for a very beautiful celebration ceremony. I gave each child a certificate, sang songs, and had speeches by administrators and two selected 5th graders. The speech by one little boy was really great. He had a theme in it about making turkeys. It was adorable.

Ellie looked beautiful and so grown up. It was her idea to get really dressed up for the day. This included, wanting to curl her hair. Even did a drive from the curling a few weeks ago. It was lovely seeing her want to get dressed up. She looks so grown up. Fifth grade definitely wasn’t our best year in terms of teachers and Ellie’s love of learning. I’m glad it’s over and looking forward to what middle school brings her. I know she’s ready. I can’t believe she’s going to be a teenager here soon now.

After the ceremony they had an all afternoon party at school. She really enjoyed the day.

Some pictures of the last two days . I’m so proud of her.

Into the school for the very last day.

Out of school on the very last day
