There are two plays a year, and for each one, she decides to try out for speaking role. This spring, she decided she wanted one of the main roles, the stowaway.
She had about a week to practice the script and the singing solo. She practiced hard. She was really determined to get this role.
Unfortunately, she got a cold right before tryouts. That made tryouts harder. She felt confident in her performance though. She had to wait a week to find out what happened.
I’m happy to report that Friday she came in from school and announced that she got the role of the stowaway. I’m so proud of her for working hard to prepare to be successful and be selected to be this role. It really is a big role.
I’m looking forward to seeing her in the show in May. For now, I’ve been drafted into script, reading to help her memorize her 44 lines.
