Day 6 NY finger lakes

We headed south and aimed for Hammondsport where my friend from work has retired. They have a lovely farmhouse they renovated and live outside a lovely town! They are directly across from a very nice vineyard. What amazing views and lovely way to retire. Andrew has given me a new goal!

After our visit we headed south to Corning NY for our last overnight. We had only one hotel room this night in a less then stellar hotel that looked like it was still the same since the 1980s. We made the best of it after having a quick meal in a local Italian cafe, we watched Billy Madison squished into our double beds before faking asleep, which the kids loved. 

Clair was especially thrilled to finally share a bed with me and cuddle all night.

We could not take any pictures inside the Martin House unfortunately. The tour was 90 minutes and the kids were very patient. 

Day 5 Buffalo NY

This was an unplanned addition. We were supposed to explore from the Canadian side today but that’s to immigration none sense we could not. Instead we explored Buffalo which was a very cute city. We found a couple cool things to do and it was probably my favorite day. 

First up was the zoo. Then we explored Frank Lloyd Wrights The Martin House. Then we enjoyed dinner at a nice French restaurant downtime before heading back to Niagara and seeing it in the dark at Maxs request. 

Date night

After a long bday the kids enjoyed an evening swim and we had some nice sandwiches in the room before separating for date night. 

Kids enjoyed some tv in their room and we had a couple drinks in the hotel bar while the sun set. It was nice. 

Day 4 Niagara Falls

We explored the falls from all angles. The kids were amazed at the water in the air you could see from miles away. 

Ellie was thrilled to have entered Canada even slightly from the water because we could not go over. 

Maiden of the midst was a hit with the kids even though we all came away soaked.
