A great day of soccer

Today was the end of season bracket playoff day for both Max and Claire soccer teams. They were at different fields so we had to go separate ways as a family. I took Clair and David took Max.

Claire‘s team played really well. They won two games and tied the third one. They only gave up one goal the whole time. Clair was goalie almost the entire day and she really did an amazing job. She was brave enough to put her hands down there and people were going after the bar. She caught a huge ball kicked from half court in the air perfectly. She ran out to get the ball and stop the play as a good goalie should. She seems to be really enjoying being old. She says she likes it because she can use her hands like Softball.

Though I really think she played quite flawlessly, she was really disappointed when that goal in the final  game went over her head and in a goal with 15 seconds left in the last game. She was in the right place in the goal and put her hands up but she was just not tall enough to block it. She was devastated about that goal. She was angry that they didn’t win in advance to the championships. Many people told her she did a great job and she shouldn’t worry but it was really hard to pull her out of the anger that she felt.

After Clair‘s game the coaches talk to them and told them to be proud of what they had accomplished for the day. Coach also gave them each a special shirt with their nickname on it. We packed up and headed over to the other field so we could watch Max‘s last game.

Meanwhile, Max’s team which was the second to last in the whole big for their group, Was having a great day. They ended up first seated in their flight and in the championship game for the day. I was able to watch him play the last game. I saw him get the first goal for their team.

We learn today with the team that scores first win 70% of the time. Max score a couple goals today and really helped his team.

We learn today with the team that scores first win 70% of the time. Max score a couple goals today and really helped his team. His team ended up beating The other playoff team and tomorrow they are in the championship game. Those boys had a rough year and it was great to watch them celebrate when they saw the news that they were going to the championships for their bracket tomorrow. I’m really excited for them.

About two hours after leaving the field from Clair‘s team we get notifications from the coaches that there was a mixup and Claire‘s team is actually progressing as the winner of their flight to the championship game tomorrow as well.
This girl was so excited, she was literally jumping for joy in the Chick-fil-A bathroom when I told her about the message. She has determined they will win tomorrow. She really wants to be a champion and bring home a trophy. She spent most of the night thinking about and celebrating this victory. She went from sad to happy with this news.

I’m proud of them both and really happy they’re having such a great weekend. Tomorrow will be another long day in the soccer field and it is totally worth it.

Maximilian turns 11!

Today, bright and early, at 7:29 am (I think), Max turned 11 years old. I can remember the day he was born like it was last week. I was so excited to meet him. Once I had him, they swiftly took him to the nursery and I didn’t get to see him from the early two hours. Those were some of the longest two hours of my life. I have one of the sun for my whole life. I am so lucky to have Max.

Max was up early for a snuggle in bed to celebrate his birth moment. Claire was all about celebrating Max‘s birthday as she was up and ready to go too.  She wanted her brother to get proper recognition and celebration for his big day.

They had their last day of home, virtual, school today. Tomorrow is the last day of school. So far in life Max pride to himself I’m not having had to go into the school building on his actual birthday, ever. It drives her sisters nuts.

After school, he got to open his presents. I think he got everything he could’ve imagined. He guessed at most presents and didn’t get too many right. But he was still very pleasantly surprised about all his gifts. The list includes an 8 x 8 rubic cube, wooden gun that he hast to build, he wouldn’t say that he hast to build, Electronic set from Grannie, a shark pool float ie from Gramma, some new comfortable clothes that he was very happy about, a water gun, a physics kit and rollerblades. He seemed quite pleased with his take. He spent the afternoon digging into the electronics set  first. He was able to create something that would play happy birthday to him when he turned it on.

Max says he wants to be a scientist when he grows up or he wants to own his own tech company. Both things show his love of science. So that was the focus of his birthday. There are lots of things for him to figure out and build over the summer.

In the afternoon she had some friends over to swim for a bit. After that grandma came by for a visit. Then we had Max his requested dinner of burgers and apple pie. Finally we talked the evening off by watching back to the future with the kids. They all really enjoyed the movie. Max did a lot of giggling. David was thrilled to watch this 80s movie “classic” as he says, with the kids. He is such an 80s kid.

I think Max had a good day.

Learning to play Pokémon

Friday night our babysitter taught Max and Ellie how to actually play the game Pokémon. I’m so glad. Now there’s something more to do then trade these cards. Max and Ellie have been playing a lot this weekend. There’s definitely some arguing and bickering going in with it. Hopefully that’s all part of learning how to work out dissagreements with others later in life.

Upside down

Max loves when David carries him upside down. The other night as we were getting ready to go up for bad I see him play his babies on the floor at the foot of the stairs and pick one up upside down and start carrying it upstairs. He proceeds to explain to me that the babies like being carried upside down like he does. He asks me to look at the baby smile on his face. Back so proud of himself.

He then walks proudly back down the stairs collect the second baby from me carries her all the way upside down up the stairs too. It was adorable!

It was even cuter considering his naked outfit after having ruined all his clothes at dinner time by spilling milk on him.

Baby Colin

Max has taken to treating baby Colin like his real baby. He carries him around and put him to bed, and give him kisses, and talk cement and sing some songs. It is too cute.

He is pretty distraught when he forgets baby Colin downstairs and it's time to go to sleep upstairs. He puts the cradle right by his head and tucks baby in. Just like my cradle for Clair is right by my head.

He loves babies. If he wants his little sister. Here he is sitting in the stroller at the store holding his baby sister. She's just chilled out by it all.

Brotherly love

Max loves Clair so much. Being able to hold her or touch her always guarantees a smile on Max's face.  Today after nap e held her for a few minutes and this is the only time he will hold still and smile for a photo. He's so proud of being a big brother too. His love is so real for her. It melts my heart.

My baby

I love to hear Max refer to Clair as "my baby." He does this all the time and it is so sweet. His love for her is evident in his smile each time he touches her or talks to her. She lives to kiss her and rub his cheek on her head. He holds her any chance he gets. He's a sweet boy who loves his sister very much!

Grannie projects

This morning Max and Ellie are downstairs with Grannie spread out on the floor with many cardboard boxes and scissors. They also have toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, and paper plates. They're trying to construct their very own castle. That they will painted. Ellie is in her glory. Grannie is a patient, brave woman.
