Today was a big day for Ellie. She has been in love with princesses since before she knew they existed. Today, we started the day by visiting Disney's Magic Kingdom and having breakfast in the castle with Cinderella and several other princesses. Ellie was so excited about this day. She could hardly wait.
When we woke up this morning at 6:45 and it was still dark outside, the first thing she said to me was "Mommy, I'm so excited becuase today is the day that we meet the princesses!" It was so cute. She was up and dressed and ready quickly. Then she kept asking when we could leave.
We arrived at the park and slowly drifted towards the castle on a ferry. The anticipation of my little "Belle" in her winter dress was well maintained. She was patient and excited.
The first princess we got to meet was Cinderella. She was the host of the breakfast. She met everyone downstairs and was very gracious and sweet as she welcomed every guest. She when we went to get our photo she even asked Ellie to show her dress and hold it out like hers. It was so cute. Ellie was so shy and quiet, but the look on her face was pure amazement and excitement. As long as I was holding her hand, she was fine. (I love that she still relies on me.)
Up the stairs we went and were seated for breakfast. We nibbled on pastries and stuff while waiting patiently for the princesses to make their way around the room. We were the end of the circulation, so Ellie had to be very patient. She was pretty good about it.
Ellie had made a drawing of Sleeping Beauty to give her. I wasn't sure how that would go becuase some of the princesses were more gracious and happy then others.
The first princess to the table was snow white. Ellie was a bit shy, but she got her autograph and a photo. She gave her a smile and Snow White moved along. Next came Belle. Ellie had pointed out that she was dressed in her 'work-a-day rags.' Ellie wanted me to ask her what happend to her ball gown. She said it was being cleaned. I was a little sad that Belle didn't realize Ellie was wearing her winter ball gown, but luckily Ellie didn't seem to notice.
The next princess was Ellie's favorite - Sleeping Beauty. She was great. She asked Ellie if she remembered in the story what two colors were considered for her dress. Ellie knew right away. I was proud! They spoke for about 3 or 4 minutes. I videoed a bit of it best I could. She was so kind to Ellie. She asked her to sign the picture Ellie had made for her. I'm so glad that Ellie felt like she played with Sleeping Beauty.
After it was all over Ellie said, "I want to play with the princesses Mommy." Later in the day she asked, "I want to go swimming with the princesses mommy." It was a princess kind of day! My little princess had a blast and said it was the best day of her whole life! That's big news!
We did do many other rides and Ellie enjoyed lots. She also got to experience her first rollercoaster with Gramma! It was a great day at the Magic Kindom!
