This winter has been relatively calm. With Covid still heavily upon us, we didn’t do much or see many people. We did manage to make some fun for ourselves though. We Enrolled the kids in ice-skating class. It was originally McCanna‘s mom‘s idea as an opportunity for Ellie and McKenna to spend some time together. And we decided to let Clair and Max do it too. I had always had this fascination of being able to take the three kids ice-skating. When Ellie was younger I manage the teacher. I took Max one time before my back got really bad and we never went again. I have never taken Claire. I decided if we had any hope of skating together they would need a class. We thought it was a great opportunity for them to use this fairly isolated winter have have something to look forward to and something to grow with.
Eli did great and progressed throughout the season quite well. She really enjoyed the time with her friend and really seems to enjoy skating to.
Max and Claire both got off to a rough start. I think part of it was the skates I had bought them. Once we switch them to the skates that you could borrow from the place, they progressively got better. Max is fearless and wants to go fast and stop fast. Clair is delicate and purposeful. We went skating as a family twice. I even have a pair of skates and enjoyed getting to get on the ice with the kids twice.
They say they want to do it again. I told them not for spring the season because this is our busy season between soccer and softball. But maybe in the summertime will let them do it again.
