Ellie's first visit to the dentist

Today Ellie had her first visit to Dr. Hummers. We were a little nervous as to how much she would actually let them clean and count and do all the thigns they needed to do. Ellie asked me if I would go first and if she could watch. I said of course.

As I went through things, Julie (the dental hygentist) talked Ellie through every step of the way. Ellie paid good attention. After Doctor Hummers look at me, it was Ellie's turn.

I put her up into the chair and she looked so little.

As Julie got started, she talked her through everything she was about to do. Ellie was skeptical at first, but she was curious enough not to get worried. Julie let her feel each thing on her fingers before putting them into her mouth. This was just perfect for Ellie - exactly what she needed to be comforted enough to let the exam and cleaning move along.

Ellie sat perfectly still as her teeth were counted. Then, she was perfect as her teeth were cleaned.

Learning about rinsing...

She's now an expert at "kissing the sucker" as Julie said.

Relaxed and a pro!

The total was a perfect 20 - 10 on the top and 10 on the bottom! The report was that her teeth were very clean with little plak and that they have great spacing! Ellie was amazing!
