We haven't really done much for New Year's Eve since having the kids. And that's okay. This year was very relaxed and I enjoyed my time at home the kids.
On New Year's Eve we ran some errands and had dinner out. We treated the kids ice cream out. We Don't do that very often and they really enjoyed it.
David and I stayed up talking to ring in the new year. It was quite but works for me at this stage. I don't have the energy to be out and about right now - 23 weeks pregnant!
New Year's Day was spent totally relaxing in the house. We played Playdough with the kids for a couple hours and then watched one o Ellie's new movies. Max helped daddy shovel snow off the deck in preparation for his smoked turkey he was making. The afternoon was filled with relaxing naps all around and the evening was followed by dinner, some new games, a puzzle and preparing to return to the normal routine.
Years ago staying in for a day was torture for me, but these days I cherish such rare relaxing time with the family in our house. It was a great way to end the holiday ( since it had to end).
2013 will bring our family more change as we welcome our baby girl. I'm looking forward to it and the time off with the Lisa. Ellie will also start kindergarten, which I can hardly believe.
Time flies!
Happy New Years and hears hoping for a great 2013.
