Poor Max

Today had to be one of the worst days of Max's life.

Yesterday he had to get to antibiotic shot at the doctors because his ear infections have been constant for a month. He has been really miserable with these. This morning while waiting for his turn to go to the eye doctor, he fell from the slide and busted his lip pretty good. That was after messing up his shin pretty hard as well.

By 10 AM when we headed to the eye doctor he look like he had been through war with his red hard nose, his sad eyes, and his very swollen and bloody lip. The eye doctor wasn't in much easier experience, as they have to be patient and wait for over an hour before getting seen for a five-minute check up. The doctor didn't take time to warm Max up or explain what was happening. The doctor just dove right in with tests. I was quite annoyed.

Lunchtime wasn't much easier, as mommy yelled at him when he wouldn't eat and he proclaimed as he burst into tears, "mommy you scared me!" Good mommy award there.

They were awaken from naps before they were ready to head to the pediatricians to have his ears checked again. There was lots of tears at that time too.

The pediatrician was just as bad experience. We were there for nearly 2 hours. Dr. Clarence said Max had to have more antibiotic shots. We were expecting that to a point, but it is still a very painful experience for him. And it's very scary for two-year-old. Max is so brave.

While the nurses were administering the shots and Max was crying, one of the shots broke in half and didn't going to his leg. There was a needle hanging out Max's leg. Finally the other nurse pulled it out. The nurse who had the shot explode couldn't see, because the medicine was all over Max and apparently in her eyes. Maxis crying. I was worried. It was a mess.

I has to talk to Dr. Clarence so we could figure out what was next. Dr. Clarence said he needed to get another shot. So we waited for a while and then proceeded with a third painful antibiotic shot in Maxis poor little legs. It was the fifth shot in 36 hours. Max was so brave. I'm proud of him for even letting us get anywhere near his legs in the doctors office.

The rest of the evening we had dinner and then let them playing about for a while. Next keep saying his legs hurt. I can only imagine why.

When I was putting next to bed tonight, I told him how brave he was. He was focused on the shots. I reminded him about the lip, the eye doctor, and the shots. I told him he had three chances to be so brave today and he was very brave and all of them. I am really proud of him. And I hope tomorrow is a much better day for him!
